Medical and Rx delivery requires a higher level of service than most other types of final mile delivery.
It demands a heightened sense of urgency. Minutes in our world can literally mean the difference between life or death in someone else’s. We need to move quickly and without error, while we focus on protecting sensitive patient health information.
We need to hold the keen understanding that every package, specimen, and medicine delivery represents an active and unfolding story of someone’s life. As medical couriers, we are a vital part of the health care logistics system. We help to shoulder the responsibility for the health and well being of the people in the communities we serve. This is the Medical Couriers Difference.
Maintaining Sensitivity for Over 50 years
Because we’re part of a health care system, we have a responsibility to be mindful of the situations we find ourselves in. With everything we see – from disaster to trauma to fast-paced hospital culture – it’s easy to become jaded in the role we play. So, we spend time and attention ensuring that our drivers are sensitive to the environments that they service and conscientious about managing their behaviors and actions in the face of your customer.
We know that when it comes to the health care logistics industry, we are often the representative of your brand and extensions of your customer service. Our fleet of professional drivers visit your customers daily and we accept the responsibility of providing professional, reliable, and courteous service every day.
So whether it is sterile hospital environments ready to pick up a specimen collection, a clinic bustling with concerned patients over their health diagnosis, or an eldercare community with residents awaiting their daily medicine delivery, our drivers bring the appropriate demeanor to the endeavor.
Medical Couriers is proud to have practiced these disciplines for over 50 years!
Because of our deep roots in care, we like to say that our style is “cutting edge, old school”. The values that we were founded with in the 60’s still hold true today:
- We are of service.
- We do what it takes to get the job done, and what is right while we’re doing it.
- Our team members are taken care of.
- We are accountable to our customers.
But the industry is changing, and we know that we can either lead that change, or we can be changed. As leaders in the medical delivery field, we’re leading the change.
The Medical Couriers Difference: New Tech in an Old Industry
We’re holding our values close to the chest – these are ingrained. But we are also focused on staying up to date with the latest technology.
Our goal is to use leading-edge tech to make it efficient for our customers, and simple for our staff.
Our system makes it easy to preserve the chain of custody, record key check-points and milestones throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensure timely pickup and delivery, and catch errors before they happen. MCI clients can track their specimens 24 hours a day, and they can always reach someone on our staff in a case of an emergency pickup.
Additionally, we are developing leading edge technology solutions that
- Produce measurable time-saving value for our customers.
- Enable our drivers to be safe, successful, and informed about their deliveries.
- Allow us to reduce operating costs overall to help preserve our competitive pricing.
Our Ongoing Commitment to Relationships
Everything we do, our dedication to high quality medical delivery service, our maintenance of environmental sensitivity, and our focus on burgeoning technology is in service of our commitment to the relationships that we have with our customers, team members, and partners.
We have grown with this industry over the past 50 years. That’s why our average customer relationship is 12 years right now. We even have a few that extend past 20 years. They appreciate that throughout our half-century of health care logistics, we have never lost a specimen or deviated from our company values.
We care about our drivers, and their safety. On average, our drivers have worked with us for over 8 years (and some are celebrating 15+!). Our turnover is low because we treat our drivers with respect. We make sure that they have the training they need and the respect they deserve, at a living wage they can be proud to earn.
Since the beginning, we have been a family owned business. Our company is managed by second and third generation family members of the founder. They are intimately involved with the decision making process and they help us keep to our roots.
We have partners around the country too! Medical Couriers is a California-based business, but we make sure that we can partner with other health care logistics businesses to serve the entire United States. We work with 24 (and growing) other couriers around the country, sharing business, ideas, and driver resources. By creating a strong and reliable partner network, we are able to serve more people, and by being particular with our partnerships, we are able to ensure that we can uphold the quality of medical courier services throughout the continental USA.
